Serving with POP Excel has been a joy for me as I see the hands of God at work in the lives of the community children. When we first started in 2000, we only had 16 kids and 5 teachers. The number is increased to 100 over the years. There are many stories to tell about the love and faithfulness of God. One of them is a boy who joined POP Excel when he was in Primary 3.
He came to know the Lord and gradually his brother also received Christ. A few years ago, his mother also came to know the Lord and is now serving the Lord in the Mandarin service. As for this boy, he is now a cell leader and also actively serving in POP Excel. Recently, he headed a team to run the Children’s Day programme, which resulted in 12 salvations and 5 re-dedications. Besides that, he has also excelled in his studies. We saw how the Lord has blessed him and his family. From a very weak student, he is now pursuing a diploma in Temasek Polytechnic.

The POP Excel Ministry provides tuition and practical help to students from Primary 1 – Secondary 4.
Our purpose is to impact the lives of children and teens in our community through teaching biblical values to build their character and faith in God.
Our goals are to provide quality teaching and wholesome life experiences for children and teens. Besides helping them in their studies, we also act as mentors to the children and teens, guiding them and providing godly advice and counsel to them for their problems and challenges. We believe that the students will see the love of Christ for them through our care and concern.
The Ministry is divided into 2 groups:
Junior Pop Excel
This programme helps children between Primary 1 – 6 in the Bedok-Tampines area with their studies. We also use the Bible to teach values that develop character
Senior POP Excel
This programme reaches out to teens between Secondary 1 – 4 in the community. We provide them a healthy and wholesome environment and guide them in their studies. We also act as mentors to them as they transition in life experiences towards adulthood.
Programme
Our sessions are conducted every Saturday, from 1.30 pm – 5.00 pm (except during the school holidays in June, November and December).
POP Excel is open to those:
* Who need assistance in their studies
* Cannot afford private tuition
* Enjoy meeting friends
* Want to learn a skill or better themselves
We are also looking for suitable volunteers to help us in this ministry.
