This 8-session course is mandatory for all couples planning to get married in BBTC in 2024/25. If you have friends who are considering marriage but are not of the faith, they are welcome to join us too.
COURSE SYNOPSIS
Sessions are a combination of teaching/equipping lessons based on biblical perspectives and text, with interactive engagement.
As part of the course, each couple is required to complete an online PREPARE/ENRICH inventory that will provide the couple with a snapshot of their relationship. A trained PE facilitator will review the PE report with the couple and encourage them to dialogue about their relationship in meaningful and productive ways, and increase practical relationship skills in Communication, Conflict Resolution, Closeness, Flexibility, and Financial Management
The final 8th session is slanted towards pre-marital counselling and intended to help couples deal with potential areas of conflicts in marriages. There are 3 agendas to this session:
a) Unresolved or Outstanding issues
b) Sexual intimacy, consummation of marriage, family planning, contraception, cleansing from pre-marital activities and cutting of soul ties
c) Mentoring programme
The 8th session should take place no less than 3 months before actual wedding. It is the onus of the couple to arrange with Ps Andrew Tan or Jessica Teng for this last session, which will be conducted by the assigned facilitators.
There will be 2 runs of the course each year. Each run will be conducted over 8 weeks. Participants are expected to complete the entire course prior to marriage in BBTC. Participants are expected to make up any sessions missed at the next run of the Pre-Marital Course. There will be no ad hoc makeup sessions.
Participants are advised to attend Pre-Marital course early to help them understand and be better prepared for marriage. As a guide, attendance at Pre-Marital course of 1 to 2 years before marriage is encouraged.

Cost: S$70 per couple (In addition, couple must pay US$35 for the Prepare/Enrich online inventory. The payment will be made online via credit card when couple logs in. This cost is a direct charge by the external party)
