In Exodus 12:1-2, God told Moses and Aaron in Egypt that “This month is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year.” This month refers to the Passover month, the first month of the Biblical year. The Passover was an event so significant and momentous that it warranted a reset of the Israelites’ calendar.
