This is the seventh sermon in the series on the end-times. SP began by emphasising all scriptures are profitable. Yet throughout the Bible, there are specific messages meant for the Jews, the Gentiles and the Church. Matthew 24 is meant for the Jews. However, the Church can learn useful lessons too.
In the preceding chapter, The Lord has been sparring with the religious leaders. At the end, He delivered a scathing rebuke in Chapter 23 pronouncing seven woes on them, judging them for their hypocrisy and for leading Israel into her own judgment. The chapter concludes with the Lord making one last public statement lamenting Israel’s decision and making a prophetic proclamation that Israel will not see him again until Israel says, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’
