Jehovah Nissi

The last redemptive name of God is Jehovah Nissi, the Lord our Banner of Victory (Ps 20:5-7). The blessings of Victory include favour over our enemies, favour with our enemies (Pro 16:7; Rom 8:31), empowerment from the Holy Spirit (Lk 24:49; Act 1:8; Zach 4:6), abundance (2 Cor 9:8; Jn 10:10b; Eph 3:20), God’s goodness (Ps 34:8; Lk 11:13, Jas 1:17), mercy to not get what we deserve, mercy to not reap the negative consequences of what we have sown wrongly (Heb 4:16; Jas 2:13), as well as God’s presence with us (Mt 1:23; Heb 13:5b).
