Even as we have been taught on how to contend for our faith, we are reminded this month that as Christians, we are called to seek the welfare of our nation as well. This week, Senior Pastor Daniel Foo exhorts us to stand as elders at the gates of our Nation, and elaborates for us on the principles and promises of divine intervention (2 Chron 7:14):
Principles: Humble ourselves. Pray. Seek His Face. Turn from our wicked ways.
Promises: God will hear us. God will forgive our sins. God will heal our land.
As God’s people we are all called, as priests, to stand in the gap and represent our nation to God, praying for our nation and for the leaders of our nation so that we may lead quiet and peaceable lives in all godliness and reverence. (1 Tim 2:1-2)
